I taught the great class, Body Balance for many years and gave it up last August for a variety of reasons – despite loving the class and the people who came to the class.
I have missed it sorely, so have decided I’m going to start teaching it again, but under my own steam this time. This is a daunting prospect since I have to pay Les Mills £160 a month in fees, plus other fees and hall rent. It is entirely possible that I’m simply bonkers in even thinking about it.
Even worse, the £160 covers only 1 centre, so I can’t trial it in different centres to see where it takes off best. Or I can, but it’s £160 a pop.
I have looked a various venues – and if anyone has good ideas, please do let me know since nothing is signed yet. The best centre I’ve found is Manuden Village hall, which was completed in 2014 and is just beautiful. It doesn’t have mirrors, but the hall is a good size and has underfloor heating – so we’ll all fall asleep in those last few quiet minutes! It opens onto the playing fields, so we may yet be able to do the class outside when the weather is up for it. If it gets a bit hot, there are ceiling fans; so much nicer than air con.
The times I would take the class in Manuden would be Thursday morning about 10.30am, Thursday evening 6.45pm and probably Monday afternoon 2 – 3pm.
I’m not quite sure what I’ll charge, but it will be in the region of £8 for a single class and £7 for a bunch of them. The fees I’ll finalise when I commit.
