P1P2 Balance is the most useful product from Poliquin. It provides the nutrients to balance out phase 1 and phase 2 liver detoxification – a critical action all the time, not just when hitting Dry January. I sell it for £32.25 for 72 capsules, and you take 2 – 4 a day. Contact me through this site.
Our liver is a huge and awe inspiring organ. It constantly works hard detoxifying dangerous stuff – even the air we breathe is toxic, never mind the over-indulgence in alcohol or pain killers. Detoxification is a two stage process; in phase 1, the liver attaches enzymes – collectively called P450 – to the toxin. At the end of this phase, the toxin may be even more toxic to the body. In phase 2, called conjugation, further substances are applied to the toxin which makes it water soluble and therefore excretable through the usual means: sweat, urine or faeces.
It is fairly easy to speed up phase 1 of detoxification – coffee does that nicely, as do most popular detox/cleansing diets. The important thing is to make sure we have the nutrients to complete phase 2 so we can excrete the toxins.
Detox and cleansing diets are popular and usually involve cutting out animal proteins, with us surviving on fruits and veggies, frequently juiced.
Phase 2, the conjugation phase, has essentially five different conjugates. And one of them, methylation, is dependant upon animal proteins to supply vitamin B12. Lack of B12 in the diet is just dangerous to health and explains why people can feel worse after a fruit and veg only detox diet.
Added to this, many of us have the methylation gene which means we can’t convert folic acid properly: genetically, the conversion process in the liver doesn’t work. So we need to have our folic acid in methylated form to help complete this important part of detoxification.
Oestrogens are detoxified by methylation, so eating a vegetable only diet will lead to a fat arse in both men and women and, in men, lowered testosterone levels, leading to weakness and a reliance on Viagra for any action.
P1P2 balance contains all the nutrients to support both phases, including methylated folic acid and vitamin B12. ((Serving size: 2 capsules. Of course, breathing properly is another critical part of a well functioning liver. When we breathe in, the diaphragm descends giving the liver and other organs a good squashing. When we breathe out, the diaphragm lifts and the guts squeeze in a bit, releasing the down pressure and giving the liver and organs a nice pump.
So get the alcohol under control, eat plenty of animal or fish protein, eat plenty of vegetables, breathe well and take P1P2 balance and you’re on your way to feeling just so much better. After all, life isn’t a rehearsal.
