At the beginning of March, I was in Sweden on the Z-Health Strength course: how to get strong and flexible using neurology instead of just grunting/straining hard and hoping not to injure oneself in the trying.
Apart from what I learnt, I found a great cause to hope. As the recent blog on post stroke brain injury went into, neurology in UK is very behind the times, meaning that what I do on a one to one basis and in my class, Flexible Strength, is way ahead of its time and meets with resistance. The new is often threatening: I have a pain/improve my tennis therefore the problem is purely physical and all this weirdy stuff that I do, like tongue drills, eye drills and so on are like witchcraft and not to be trusted. If neurology is way behind, the professions dealing with performance and pain are back in the stone age by which I mean just discovering some tools.
The German Z-Health trainer, Lars Lienhard, was in Sweden with us. For some years, Lars has worked with elite German athletes, and these athletes are now winning medals and the footballers are dramatically improving their game; these athletes are talking about their ‘neuro training’ that they’ve been doing with Lars. German athletes and trainers are paying attention. There is an introductory course to Z-Health called Essentials; they announced a course in Germany and it sold out in 4 days; the second course announced sold out in a week.
Which means that the weirdy stuff I do is gaining a strong foothold in Germany.
Lars also worked with a leading German footballer who is now in UK working with one of the top clubs. This footballer is hoping to bring Lars over to work with the Academy. Of course, those at the top of the club may well poke their heads in the sand and just take on yet another physio. Or they may take Lars on: one of my clients is an ardent Spurs fan and Spurs is not the club involved in this. My client is a very worried man……
Neuro Training for athletes. Virtually unknown in UK. It works! I am one of the most advanced in the UK. Get ahead of the crowd; find me, use me and my considerable knowledge.
