What is a typical training session?

The first phase has the goal of Long Spine.  Whilst poor posture has no link to pain in day to day living, poor posture has an appalling effect when trying to move with meaning.

We then move seamlessly into appropriate resistance training, appropriate to your goals.

Yes, I do sometimes get you thoroughly out of breath – breathing well is also a critical part of any heart raising activity.  But getting stronger is far more fraught with the danger of injury, so I always address that.  Being truly stronger will make you even better at getting thoroughly out of breath.

Training has to be a joint effort.  I do not train passive clients.  I bring my knowledge and years of expertise, you bring your goals or problems you have in reaching them.  Together we apply those findings during the session.  Between sessions, if you continue the work, you’ll progress faster.

You can expect profound changes in due course. I cannot stress this enough.  Physically, your activities will transform, often spectacularly.  Also you will transform mentally, becoming more stable and happier.  Body and brain are inextricably interlinked – you can’t improve one without the other coming along for the ride.

It is incredibly exciting that recent neurological research can be added to existing fitness models.  It has so many positive effects, far exceeding everything that has come before.  But it is new, it is strange, it’s hard work.  Those curious enough to enter this world are the pioneers of reversing the biological clock.

Finally, I do not give quick results.  You need to go elsewhere for that promised bottom of the rainbow.  Genuinely profound changes, of the kind I deliver, take time and perseverance.  The fitness industry as a whole does us all a great disservice by promising quick fixes that lead either to physical problems or superficial changes that depart as quickly as they arrived.  We shall be changing much, including the very shape of the bones of your spine and, crucially, how your brain and your body are talking to each other.
